Podcasts are Q&A with Schneider Electric engineers and experts.
In This podcast are questions asked during the “Identifying Design Solutions for Optimum Arc Flash Safety” webinar hosted by Schneider Electric.
Questions answered in this Podcast are:
1. What kind of things can be done on fire pump circuits where testing can be difficult due to high energy levels?
2. Are there liability concerns when study data is not available, and conservative assumptions are made (i.e. such as length of cable being 10 ft or 50 ft) that result in an HRC of CATEGORY 0?
3. Tony, you made the statement during your webcast, "if you don't have enough fault current available," as if that makes it easier to deal with arc fault energy. We support the military with 60 to 2 mega watt generators. The smaller generators don't provide enough fault current to open molded case circuit breakers fast enough to reduce the energy. Do you have any recommendations for other than using fuses?
