    • How to contribute to global sustainability

Sustainability consulting students walking through campus
Business and engineering students from dozens of countries participated in the Go Green in the City competition.

Making energy accessible and efficient for all is the strategy at the heart of the Schneider Electric™ Go Green in the City competition that calls for students to create an energy solution for a smarter city.

In its fifth year, this international competition expanded to include participation from business and engineering students from dozens of countries, reflecting the growing importance of global energy efficiency. Aside from the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to different parts of the world, competition winners can catapult their careers at Schneider Electric.

    Get recognized for your idea
Now, business and engineering students from all over the world are teaming up (each team must contain at least one female member) on intelligent energy solutions that will impact future city populations.

The top 100 teams worked closely with mentors from Schneider Electric to develop a business case for their energy solution for a smarter city.

On June 17–21 2014, finalists gathered in Paris to present their cases to a panel of judges and participate in workshops on career development, women and leadership, and sustainable development.

    Network with industry thought leaders
Man Ki Lee and Jin Deng Keith Chan of Team EnerBy from China – Hong Kong SAR won the Go Green in the City 2014 competition. They travelled in first-class settings to international Schneider Electric offices. During this valuable learning experience, these students were able to put their ideas into practice and connect with leading thinkers early in their careers. Other top presentations from last year’s competition included a green water system and an integrated photovoltaic building solution.
