Making energy accessible and efficient for all is the strategy at the heart of the Schneider Electric “Go Green in the City” competition, which calls for students to create an energy solution for a smarter city.
In its sixth year, this international competition includes participation of business and engineering students from dozens of countries, reflecting the growing importance of global energy efficiency. Aside from the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to different parts of the world, competition winners can catapult their careers at Schneider Electric.
Launched in 2011, “Go Green in the City” offers students (starting from the second-year of university) a chance to present their innovative energy management ideas for the smart cities of the future. Working in teams (each with at least one woman), participants must propose an energy management solution to meet the needs of smart cities in one of the five areas: residential, universities, business, hospitals or water management.
For the final round of this year’s edition, 12 teams will present their solutions during the event in Paris Sept. 19-22, where a jury panel of Schneider experts and managers will determine the top solution. More details on the 2016 competition are available in the press release.
