Ask a Question

Can speed potentiometer and start stop buttons be mounted long distances from the AC Drive?

The potentiometer speed inputs normally use 10 VDC. The logic inputs for the run and stop commands normally use 24 VDC. These low voltage control circuits may not operate reliably over very long distances. There are some drives and option cards that use different votlages. It is good to consider the supply voltage, wire gauge, proper shielding and distance with any remote controls. It may be necessary to have separate power supplies or use interposing relays if long distances are involved.
