What does a 80% rated breaker mean.

This means that the NEC code requires the application load not to exceed 80% of the handle rating. This does not mean that the breaker will trip at 80% of handle rating. This assumes the breaker is used in ambient of 40 deg C or less. These breakers are sized at 125% of continuous loads plus non continuous loads.
