What is the MEG sticker or MEG label?

Issue:
What is the MEG approved label?

Product Line:
Metering Equipment

Environment:
Applies to specific MEG approved Individual Meter Sockets, CSED, EZM, and MP devices

Resolution:
The MEG Meter Equipment Group is an organization comprised of electrical utilities that specifies the requirement for customer-owned, self-contained meter sockets and maintains an approval list of the sockets.
As of 2/10/17, the participants are:
  • FPL - Florida Power and Light
  • Duke Energy
  • OGE - Oklahoma Gas and Electric
  • TECO - Tampa Electric
  • GULF - Gulf Power
MEG approved devices must have a "MEG approved" label. Square D metering devices that are MEG approved will include, in the carton, a small bag assembly with MEG approved stickers. These are to be applied to the approved device once it is installed, per the instructions MTR11151 (attached).

To see the list of MEG approved devices, visit the web site of the above utility companies.
