What would be a good replacement drive for the obsolete ATV58?

Issue:
What would be a good replacement drive for the obsolete ATV58?

Product Line:
Altivar 58 drives

Environment:
All

Cause:
Obsolete ATV58 needs to be replaced

Resolution:
A replacement for an ATV58 would depend on whether you're using the drive for a variable torque application or a constant torque application. In a constant torque application the ATV71 or the ATV930 Process Drive could be a replacement. In a variable torque application the ATV630 Process Drive could be a replacement. Please consider your specific application when determining an exact part number for replacement. And be aware that drives have different dimensions, functions, capabilities, and requirements. Your local PAE (Product Application Engineer- contacted by distributor) can be a good resource in assisting with implementation of a new drive.

Note: Our general recommendation for enclosed drives is to replace the entire enclosure rather than just the drive. Enclosures are normally built for a specific drive, and a replacement drive may have different characteristics (physical dimensions, terminal locations, communications abilities, etc) and needs (heat dissipation, etc) than the original drive.
