Ask a Question

Why the ground fuse should never be installed upside down?

Issue:
Sometimes the ground fuse blown and the customer does not have one to replace so they try to bypass the circuit by installing it upside down.

Product Line:
GTxxx and PVxxx series

Environment:

Cause:
No part available at the time

Resolution:
Performed Locked Out and Tagged Out (LOTO) on the inverter. If the ground fuse blown, then investigate and fix the issue first before replacing it. Never install the ground fuse upside down since it bypassed the ground fault protection circuit and will lead to further damage to the inverter. People who will be working on the unit might not be aware of the issue and this will lead to unsafe condition, having unsafe voltages where there is not supposed to be any.
