What causes the matrix gate faults xx50 and xx51?

Matrix gate fault on PV or GT series inverters

Note: The work instruction provided is meant for those who are qualified to work on the inverter. This means that they should know how to properly Lock out and Tag Out (LOTO) the inverter...,etc.

Matrix gate faults can be resolved with any of the following: (CCU, IGBT, driver board, fiber optic harness cable, CT and inductor).
Solution: Narrow down the root causes.
1. Swap the driver board from left to right and vice versa and see if the fault follows the driver board. If it follows, then the driver board is the issue. If not, continue with troubleshooting.
2. Perform matrix test. Check for blinking amber lights. If any of the amber lights are not blinking or turned on, troubleshoot that section.
3. Clean the fiber optic cable at the tip to make sure that dirt does not block the light and prevent communication between the CCU and driver boards. Clean the tip at both sides (driver board and CCU).
4. Check to see if the inductor core is loose.
