Why does the GT inverter keep faulting with a 0033 ground fault?

Inverter keeps faulting with ground fault

Product Line:
GTxxx series

Grid issue

Note: The work instruction provided is meant for those who are qualified to work on the inverter. This means that they should know how to properly Lock out and Tag Out (LOTO) the inverter...,etc.

Fault 0033 can be caused by a grid related event. When the grid has had an issue with either AC voltages or frequency, the inverter shuts down. If this happens frequently, it can cause the inverter to be confused (just like your PC losing power and needing a reboot of its' system because it thinks there is an issue). It latches on to a binary input that the system uses to monitor the inverter, in this case ground fault 0033.

Solution: Call the Utility and see if they can fix the grid issue or call into the call center and ask that the system software be upgraded. Knowing of this grid issue, our engineers developed a software feature to monitor the grid events and allow for the system to continue running.

GT100 does not have an auto-clear software. This software was created years ago and was not updated to do so.
