Ask a Question

What is the functioning of the push-to-trip button on a breaker when the breaker is on (closed) and when the breaker is off (open)?

Does the push-to-trip button act different when the breaker is on than when it is off?

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

The breaker will trip with the push-to-trip button only when the breaker is ON. By design, it is prevented from tripping when OFF. This is to protect the mechanism from the stress of ``dry firing``.
