Ask a Question

Is it possible to use one AC drive to run multiple motors at one time?

Yes, provide separate overloads for each motor and size the drive according to total FLA of all the motors added together.
Do not add motor connections to the output of the drive while the drive is running. This action is called slamming. It can only be done if special considerations are made.
Additionally, some of the drives have features that allow different motor parameters to be used for separate motors. This feature does not apply to the use of multiple motor run simultaneously, but does apply to using one drive to alternate between different motors while running one motor at a time.
See the appropriate programming manual for the drive being used.
