Ask a Question

How does a safety switch key interlocking system for a generator/utility source work?

The key interlock on a given safety switch is usually used in conjunction with another safety switch, and forces one switch to be off while the other is on, and vice versa. Therefore, the load can be switched to utility power or to generator, but never both at once.
