Variations of K Ratings for Transformers

The K4 Transformer is used in applications in which a major portion of the load is non-linear devices, and the 24 hour average load duty cycle is 80% or higher. The K13 rated Transformer is used where the majority of the load is non-linear, and the 24 hour average load duty cycle is 95% or higher. In practical applications, ratings higher than K13 are never necessary.  Since 2016, SquareD/Schneider Electric no longer offers K4 rated Transformers, but still offers K13 rated Transformers.
