9002AW7 has a mechanical latch.  When you push the petal down the contacts latch until you manually unlatch them with the lever on the switch.  See page 7 of 65013-010-31H for the picture of the mechanical latch.  9002AW12 is a push on/push off maintained contact switch.  Also 9002AW7 has a single pole double throw contact whereas 9002AW12 has a single pole single throw contact.
