Can a manual transfer or generator kit be obtained for a 30+ year old load center that uses the QO vertically mounted breakers?

A manual transfer kit or generator kit for a load center that old is 30 + years old is not available. The generator kit accessories for Load Centers have only been available for approximately 5 years.
