Yes, a very minimal amount of energy is used when the charger is in standby mode. In normal ambient temperature (25 Deg C/77 Deg F) and normal voltage (240Vac) the charging station uses 1.85 Watts of energy. The wattage is calculated based on a current draw of 0.0163 Amps at 240Vac, Power Factor of 0.47.
