              RoHS compliance

              Toward hazardous substance-free products

RoHS is the European directive on Restriction of Hazardous Substances (2011/65/EU).

              The European RoHS directive requires:

No lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ether (flame retardants) above 0.1% and cadmium above  0.01% of homogeneous material in selected electrical and electronic equipments.

              Schneider Electric commits to:

              •  Apply RoHS requirements to all its products worldwide although most of its products and equipments are not in the scope of the regulation
              • Provide products’ compliance status online

Some other countries in the world published similar Directives. It is the case for example in China with the Directive MAPCEIP (Measures for Administration of the Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products) enforced since 1st march 2007. Thanks to its RoHS program and with the commitment to apply it to all of its products worldwide, Schneider Electric is in a very good position to ensure the compliance of its products to these new initiatives and directives.
