More about REACH…

REACH is a European Community Regulation on chemical substances and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and environment.

REACH identifies a set of chemical substances, called SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern). As per REACH, Schneider Electric has to communicate to its customers the content of SVHC present in our products (called “articles” in REACH) as soon as this content exceeds 0.1% (weight on weight).

Extract from the REACH text of law, Article 33

“Duty to communicate information on substances in articles

1. Any supplier of an article containing a substance […] in a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight (w/w)
shall provide the recipient of the article with sufficient information, available to the supplier, to allow safe use of the article including, as a minimum, the name of that substance.
2. On request by a consumer any supplier of an article containing a substance […] in a concentration above
0.1 % weight by weight (w/w) shall provide the consumer with sufficient information, available to the supplier, to allow safe use of the article including, as a minimum, the name of that substance.”

* The information in Check a Product represents our best knowledge relative to the presence of SVHCs in our products as of the date of publication of this information. This information will evolve over time, as a function of the improved knowledge resulting from both additional information provided by our suppliers and our own investigations
