Telemecanique, Merlin Gerin and Modicon branded products:

New packaging and product marking changeover

Why has the packaging and product marking changed?

Schneider Electric has introduced a new graphic identity and global brand signature to help us present one unified face to the global marketplace.  The new packaging and product markings will more closely align former Telemecanique, including Modicon, and Merlin Gerin products to the visual identity of Schneider Electric and strengthen our position as a one-source solutions provider.

How will this impact customers?

This is a packaging and product marking change only.  The only changes are the color design of the boxes and the introduction of the Schneider Electric logomark on the actual product.  Carton labeling, product dimensions, lot sizes, weight, batches, UPC codes and catalog numbers will remain the same.  Product range brands, i.e. Altivar, will also be retained.

What will the new packaging and products look like?

Packaging and products will prominently display Schneider Electric’s logo and signature green color.  However, when space allows, reminder Telemecanique and Merlin Merin logos will be retained on both the product carton and product label.

Will this affect product size, design or functionality?

When did the packaging start to change?

The newly designed packaging began phasing in as of July of 2008.

When will the product nameplate marking begin to change?

You can expect to see new product markings in the 2nd Quarter of this year.  However, this changeover will be transitional and take place over the next 12-18 months.   But all Telemecanique, Merlin Gerin and Modicon products will be affected. However, the Modicon brand will be retained on packaging and product expressed as a range name for our PLCs.  It is expected that the first products impacted will be Harmony push buttons, Multi9 miniature circuit breakers and Modicon PLCs.

Can products with former markings be returned for new product or have it repackaged?

No.  There is no change to the product itself.  This is simply a cosmetic change.  The standard return policy applies to all products.
