Kingsly Compression, Inc. - Cambridge, Ohio

Historically, gas-driven engines were the norm for compressors used in natural gas extraction. The engines were fueled by natural gas from a pipeline, but the cost of gas has made it more profitable for the producer to sell the gas than use a portion of it for operations. In 2006, Kingsly Compression, Inc., a leading packager of small-to-medium horsepower natural gas compressors in the Appalachian natural gas market, was approached by a Virginia-based gas producer about a large project using electric motors and electric-driven controls. At the time, less than 50 percent of Kingsly’s customers were interested in electric motors and the company had dabbled with automation products from various vendors.

Schneider Electric and ZeoGas LLC Announce Collaboration to Build New Fuel Manufacturing Plant

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, announced a collaboration agreement with ZeoGas LLC, a development-stage energy company focused on refining the production of gasoline. Through this collaboration, Schneider Electric will provide pre-FEED power and automation controls engineering and cost estimating support to help build ZeoGas’ first fuels manufacturing plant, and will act as the Main Electrical Contractor and Main Automation Contractor (MEC/MAC) on the project.
ZeoGas recently announced that it licensed Air Liquide Process and Construction Inc.’s 5,000 metric ton per day MegaMethanol® production process technology for its first plant, to convert clean natural gas feedstock to syngas and then to methanol. Additionally, ZeoGas announced that it licensed ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company’s ("EMRE") methanol to gasoline (MTG) technology to use its produced methanol to manufacture RON 92, zero-sulfur, ultra-low benzene gasoline. As ZeoGas’ MEC/MAC collaboration partner, Schneider Electric will work closely with ZeoGas’ owner’s engineer, Audubon Engineering, and with its EPC collaboration partner, Amec Foster Wheeler USA Corporation (AMEC:LN).
