Will an SDSA1175 protect scientific measurement equipment from a lightning strike?

These secondary surge arresters are suitable for use in Category B and C locations. The threat at these locations is characterized by ANSI/IEEE C62.41-1991 as a 20,000 V potential and a 10,000 A current. The device clamps the voltage during surges while diverting transient current. Electronic equipment
may need to be additionally protected at the point of use with transient voltage surge suppressors.
