How does a dry type transformer, 600V and below perform at a high altitude? Is there a derating factor for high elevation?

The effectiveness of the ambient air to remove/carry away heat from a transformer is reduced at higher altitudes due to air`s lower density at those elevations. The derating factor is 0.3% for every 330` over 3300`, or 0.3% for each 100 meters above 1000 meters.

For example, a transformer is being used at 13,050`, then the deration factor is: ( 13,050 - 3300) / 330 = 29.54 ... round up to 30... 30 * 0.3 = 9% derating, or 91% capacity available.
