Why are there 2 different cams offered for the 2 position 9001 KS selector switches when they have the same function?

The cam causes friction to movement due to translation pin on contact block sliding up the cam surface. In the spring return versions this friction would restrict the motion and the device may not spring return. The E and D cams are mirror images of each other, so in each spring return direction the contact block pin is sliding downhill on the cam surface.
