What would cause an ATV28 analog output to have a limited range instead of a maximum of 20 ma?

First, check the assignment and operation of the analog output. It may be limited to by normal operation (e.g., it is not running at full speed).

Second, check the impedance of the load; it should be less than 800 ohms. Loads rated with higher impedance will result in a clipping of the signal`s high end.

Finally, check the unit`s date code and rating against the list below. Items meeting all of those criteria may have a calibration error with their analog output. Suspect units may be returned for recalibration or the caller may reprogram it in the field via the PC software cable and a custom batch file.

The calibration error ONLY affects the following catalog numbers manufactured in the first 10 weeks of 2002.
ATV28HU09M2U, ATV28HU18M2U, ATV28HU29M2U, ATV28HU41M2U, ATV28HU54M2U, ATV28HU72M2U, ATV28HU18N4U, ATV28HU29N4U, ATV28HU41N4U, ATV28HU54N4U, ATV28HU72N4U.

Again this only affects select 230 or 460 vac controllers, frame sizes 1 through 3, with date codes of 0201 through 0210. Drive controllers manufactured before the year 2002 are not affected; neither are 600 vac units
