Some specifications may dicatate the winding material on Transformers
Applies to Sealed Epoxy Resin Encapsulated Transformers, Ventilated and Non-Ventilated Transformers, and Industrial Control Transformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric
All Transformers may utilize one of two possible coil winding materials, aluminum or copper
Yes. All Sealed Epoxy Resin Encapsulated Transformers from SquareD/Schneider Electric are copper wound as standard (enclosure styles A, B, and C.) Ventilated and Non-Ventilated Transformers are standard with aluminum, and optional with copper and us such must have ``CU`` in the suffix.
On average, copper windings provide no benefit in life expectancy or effiency compared to aluminum. It is suggested that customers examine their preference standards and decide if the additional cost for copper is justified.
