Ask a Question

Why does the GV3 starter need a GVAM11 to achieve UL508 F rating?

Issue:
Why do the GV3 starters require a GVAM11 block to be UL508F but the GV2 devices do not?

Product Line:
IEC Manual Motor Starters - GIC Product

Environment:
US Product

Cause:
Product Selection

Resolution:
The GV2P has indication of a short circuit in the main device, the GV3P does not. The GVAM11 provides this indication for the GV3P as required to be UL 508 F. The GVAM11 does not even have to be wired. It is only there for the short circuit indication.
