Issue:
Why do you need for CBA phasing for I-line breakers in an I-line panel?

Product Line:
Panelboards

Environment:
I-line panels and breakers

Cause:
Breaker phasing from the factory

Resolution:
CBA phased breakers should be installed on the right side of an I-line panel to ensure the installation meets code. The reason for this is the NEC code requires breaker
connections to be ABC from top to bottm and from left to right. When the ABC breaker is turned to be mounted on the right side of the panel, the connection is still ABC
top to bottom but it the connections will now be right to left which is in violation of the NEC Code. We take care of this when ordering a factory assembled panel however,
for RTI I-line panels, it is up to the installer to make surethey know which breakers will be mounted on the right so they can order them with the CBA configuration.
