ATV320- Wants to bring 760vdc to the DC Bus to power up the drive

Issue:
DrivesV320- Wants to bring 760vdc to the DC Bus to power up the drive

Product Line:
ATV320

Environment:
DC Bus

Cause:
n/a

Resolution:
Engineering response:
The normal bus voltage is around 650 V dc while it is running and 680 V dc before it is running.
A DC voltage above 720 V may cause the drive to trip on overvoltage on power up.
760 V dc is above where the braking transistor would be pulsed, if it were used.
Although some people have powered these drives by dc, this voltage seems a bit high. Also, UL has not evaluated drives for being powered by the dc bus, so we cannot recommend this.
