WIll there be a notification over the network if a single link fails in an ATV900 multi-drive ring topology network?
ATV900 series drives
Serial communication with ring topology
Information not available in current literature.
No. If a single link fails in a multi-drive network with ring topology, there will be no notification over the network that this link has failed. Due to the ring topology, you will still have communication to all drives on the network with a single link failure. Link status can be determined by looking at the LINK LEDs on the face of the drive. An unlit LED indicates that no communication is taking place on that link.
