Issue:
What does the S3 stand for in part number 8502SFO1S3?

Product Line:
8502 NEMA Contactors

Environment:
US Product Lines

Cause:
Can not find it in the Digest

Resolution:
These special contactors were typically used as component contactors in reduced voltage starters.  They have no Hp ratings or terminal markings and could be misapplied.

This particular unit is a special 3-pole Class 8502 Type SFO2 contactor.  It did not have any line or control terminal markings.  Hp ratings were also not printed on the namplate.  One N.C. "late break" electrical interlock (9999SX10) was supplied as standard.  Control power wiring was also omited on this special.
