Can an A or H or P trip unit be used with an NW breaker that is used as an Alternate Maintenance Switch (AMS) ?

Resolution:
Yes. An AMS is an
NW, P or R frame with a RIM module and selector switch and pilot lights to and basically trick the breaker into thinking that there is no restraint signal coming from downstream . Therefore the breaker trips instantly.
 

Any A, H or P  trip unit can be used as long as Zone Selective Interlocking (ZSI) is not involved .
