Why there is a limit on 70 amp breakers in a NQ panel when working in EQM or product selectors?
Lighting and appliance panel boards.
NQ panel boards
Selection unavailable in EQM/Product selectors
The original NQ panel design only has 4 neutral lugs on the neutral bar that can accept wires large enough for 70A and above branches. We did however add an additional lug to the panel to accept a total of 5 - 70A and above branches.
In cases where the branch requirements above 70A are 2 or 3 pole but do not require a neutral, they can add 60A prepared spaces to the panel in EQM. They can then order the 70A and above breakers separately, install them in the field (as long as the ampacity rating of the panel is not exceeded), and all branch mounting rules are followed.
