How do I perform a static check of the input rectifiers and SCR's on ATV61 or ATV71 drives?

Issue:
Troubleshooting to determine why the fuse blows or the breaker trips.

Product Line:
Altivar 61 and Altivar 71

Environment:
Beginning at frame size 9.

Cause:
Diode or SCR failure.

Resolution:
Static Diode Test Procedure Atv61-71

Sections 1 and 2 of the following tests are to be performed with NO power to the drive.  Section 1 is applicable to all ATV61 frame size 2 - 5B.  Section 2 is applicable for ATV61 and ATV71 drives frame size 6 - 15.

Section 1 (Frame size 2 - 5B)
1. Select diode mode on the meter.
2. To test the diodes on the positive DC bus
a. Place the black lead of meter on PA+ and the Red lead on L1.  The meter should read ~.3v
b. Reverse the meter leads so the black is on L1 and the red is on PA+.  The meter should read OL
c. Repeat this on L2 and L3
3. To test the diodes on the negative DC bus
a. Place the black lead of the meter on PA+ and the red lead on L1.  The meter should read OL
b. Reverse the meter leads so the black is on L1 and the red is on PA+.  The meter should read .3v
c. Repeat this on L2 and L3

Section 2 (Frame size 6 ? 15 - These frame sizes use SCR`s on the positive bus and diodes on the negative bus. 
1. Select ohms scale on the meter. 
2. To test the SCR`s
a. Place the black lead on PA+ and the red lead on L1.  The meter should show an ohmic value greater than 50k ohms.
b. Swap the meter leads so that the black lead is on L1 and the red lead is on PA+.  The meter should also show an ohmic value greater than 50k ohms.
c. Repeat the above on L2 and L3.
3. To test the diodes on the negative DC bus
a. Place the black lead of meter on PC- and the red lead on L1.  The meter should read OL
b. Reverse the meter leads so the black is on L1 and the red is on PC-.  The meter should read .3v
c. Repeat this on L2 and L3
