Ask a Question

What does the term ``interchangeable trip`` mean when applied to circuit breakers?

This is a feature offered on some thermal magnetic breakers that allows the breaker trip setting to change by swapping a trip unit module. For example, a 225 A breaker could be made into a 200 A breaker by swapping trip units. This contrasts to a ``permanent trip`` breaker for which the trip setting cannot be changed.
