Ask a Question

Is the solid neutral 'Switched', in a Safety Switch that comes with the neutral assembly from the factory, for example a DTU224NRB?

Issue:
Product Design Features

Product Line:
General Duty, Heavy Duty and Double Throw Safety Switches

Environment:
Solid Neutral Assembly

Cause:
Application

Resolution:
No, A neutral conductor in a voltage system does NOT get Switched (turned ON & OFF), and does not get connected to one of the switching poles in a Safety Switch. The Switching poles are ONLY for opening and closing the Phase Wires.

NOTE: There are applications where a neutral conductor in a voltage system can be connected to one of the switching poles in a safety switch, BUT that is totally dependent on the application and the installer of the safety switch.
