What does the installer need to do to ensure an electrostatic shield is properly bonded to ground?

Cause:
Electrostatic Shields must be grounded to be effective

Resolution:

SquareD/Schneider Electric`s Ventilated Transformers with electrostatic shields have the shield lead terminated at the core clamp which is bonded to the enclosure, which is done by the factory. When the installer properly bonds the enclosure of the Transformer to the nearest earth ground as required by the NEC, the electrostatic shield is automatically properly bonded as well.

Square D/Schneider Electric`s Sealed Resin Encapsulated Transformers with electrostatic shields have the shield lead(s), there may be more than one, unterminated by the factory. It is the responsibility of the installer to properly bond the shield lead to ground, typically done when the installer bonds the enclosure to the nearest earth ground as required by the NEC.
