Ask a Question

Can a switch be laid down on its back to get it in or out of a tight location? A switch may have been damaged because the pallet caught fire. The customer needs to lay the switch down on its back or side to get it out of its present location. Would either position be acceptable?

Yes, it will be OK to lay the switch down on its back to remove it for inspection. It would be best not to lay it on the side. This might cause some mis-alignment issues. This was an unfused switch with nothing else in it. If other items or heavy items were installed, them some bracing should be done.
