Ask a Question

Customer asks what is the difference between a shunt trip and an undervoltage trip?

The shunt trip causes a breaker to open when a control voltage is applied to the shunt trip coil. The undervoltage trip cause the breaker to open when a control voltage is removed from the UV coil. The undervoltage trip is the more failsafe of the two.
