Ask a Question

What is the difference between ``hot sequence`` and ``cold sequence`` metering?

Issue:
Application

Product Line:
MP and EZM Metering

Environment:
Application of metering devices

Cause:
Understanding of industry terms

Resolution:
In ``hot sequence`` metering, the tenant circuit breaker is located downstream from the meter. Turning off the tenant circuit breaker does not de-energize the meter. In ``cold sequence`` metering, the tenant circuit breaker is located upstream of the meter. Turning off the tenant circuit breaker does de-energize the meter. Square D type MP and EZM metering products are designed as ``hot sequence`` metering devices.
