Who provides support for Class 8801 Type XL Ramsey products?

The 8801 XL drives were rated from 1 to 75hp at 230 (5hp max) or 460vac for constant or variable torque applications.

They used diodes and a bus chopper on both the converter and power transistors on the inverter section producing a six step voltage waveform on the output. Additionally, they were not designed with regenerative breaking but could produce 150% overload.

These devices were obsoleted in the late 1980s and there is no support for them. Users may be able to replace these devices using a standard sensorless or variable torque drive.
