Who provides support for Class 8801 Type HD Ramsey products?

The 8801 HD (i.e., Heavy Duty) drives were rated from 1 to 400hp at 230 (20hp max) or 460vac for constant torque applications.

They used SCRs on both the converter and inverter section producing a six step voltage waveform on the output. Additionally, they were not designed with regenerative breaking but could produce 225% overload.

These devices were obsoleted in the late 1980s and there is no support for them. Users MAY be able to replace these devices using sensorless or full vector control drives. It is suggested the application be reviewed, understood, and quoted based on requirements.
