Our Sustainable Development Strategy

Energy and environmental responsibility lie at the core of  the Schneider Electric culture and strategy. Sustainable development is a real and essential opportunity for mobilization, growth, and differentiation, and it commits Schneider Electric to producing innovative and effective solutions to respond to two key imperatives:

  • In developed societies, place products and solutions on the market that will help to curb energy waste and promote production and consumption habits that respect the environment

  • In underdeveloped societies, promote access to energy on behalf of the 1.6 billion people who are currently without clean water, electricity and sustainable economic development.

In 2002, Schneider Electric adopted our Principles of Responsibility, equipping the company with a collective and individual framework toward sustainable development.  In 2005, we established measurement tools that mobilize every employee and provides a way to monitor these action plans with all of Schneider Electric’s stakeholders.
